Teachers new to the Diploma Programme (DP) at authorized IB World Schools and teachers from interested or candidate schools preparing for authorization.
This workshop will encourage you to:
develop an understanding of the IB mission and philosophy through the DP programme model as a context for a holistic learning experience
understand the Theory of knowledge guide (first teaching September 2013, first examinations 2015), and associated assessment requirements with practice marking activities of sample student work
structure a TOK course that integrates authentic assessment and encourages students to make links across the DP that will enhance their understanding
appreciate the dynamic nature that exists between Creativity, activity, service (CAS) and TOK when emphasizing the importance of reflecting and developing self-awareness

They are also relevant for educators who are new to a school with an existing IB programme and those interested in joining an IB school. Participants will gain an understanding of:
the basic philosophy and curricular model of the programme, including the IB mission statement, learner profile, and curriculum documents.
programme standards and practices appropriate to the participants’ role (e.g., teacher, administrator, head of school, and so on).
